When working with Grounded Landscaping on design we will meet with you to discuss your requirements, then photograph and measure the area to be landscaped. Following this meeting, Grounded Landscaping will develop a design concept plan containing all the landscaping details, soft and structural, for your new outdoor space.
Once the concept plan has been reviewed and approved by you, detailed drawings will be completed which may include any or all of the following:

• Detailed drawings for construction of structures
• Planting plan
• Lighting plan
• A detailed cost estimate

Many home owners hire a professional landscaper to create a design for them (complete with a plant list and bill of quantities), and then prefer to do the installation themselves. This can be rewarding, not only for the home owner, but for the entire family as well.

• You love gardening, and have no time constraints
If you love gardening, then you’ll love being out every day, or every weekend, working on a new section of your garden. Working on your garden in stages like this may take longer, but can be a very pleasing hobby, not to mention the fact that you can be proud to say you did it yourself!

One way to work out how much you should be spending on your garden or landscaping project is to think in terms of enhancing the value of your property. So how does one calculate an appropriate amount for your garden project? A recent survey calculated that spending 5% of the value of your property on a professionally landscaped garden can increase its value by up to 15%. In our experience, a good budget would be somewhere between 4 - 18% of the value of your home, depending on whether you are refurbishing an old garden, or installing a new one with additional elements such as irrigation, lighting, water features and/or a koi pond.
